Mediator role
In mediation, Joel Harris serves as a neutral mediator. He does not represent either side in mediation and does not provide either party with individual legal advice through the mediation process.
Inquiry submissions
Submitting a mediation inquiry does not create an attorney-client relationship, does not establish Joel Harris as counsel for either party, does not guarantee acceptance of the mediation, and remains subject to conflict and appropriateness review.
No outcome guarantee
Mediation does not guarantee agreement, lower cost, faster resolution, reduced conflict, or any particular outcome. Mediation may be used before filing, after litigation has begun, or when attorneys are already involved.
Independent legal advice
Parties may choose to seek independent legal advice before, during, or after mediation. The mediator’s neutral role is different from the role of an attorney representing a client.
