Find the mediation path that fits your dispute.

Harris Mediation Center is the dedicated mediation practice of Harris Law, LLC, led by mediator Joel Harris. HMC helps people and attorneys work through disputed issues with a structured neutral process.

This services page is a routing hub. It gives an overview of the main mediation paths and points visitors to the page with the most relevant detail. It is a starting point for choosing the right next page and deciding whether to begin an inquiry.

Divorce mediation

Divorce mediation may help spouses, parents, and attorneys organize disputed issues before filing, during a pending case, after information has been exchanged, or when a later divorce-related issue needs structured discussion.

  • Property and debt division
  • Support and maintenance discussions
  • Parenting issues that overlap with divorce
  • Complete, partial, or continued settlement discussions

Other appropriate matters

Some non-family disputes may also fit mediation.

HMC's primary launch emphasis is family mediation. A limited number of civil, business, property, probate-related, family-property, or other disputes may be considered when the parties, issues, timing, and mediator role fit HMC's neutral process.

The inquiry process helps determine whether HMC is an appropriate forum. If the matter does not fit, another mediator, attorney-guided negotiation, court process, or other dispute-resolution path may be more appropriate.

Represented parties

Mediation can include attorneys without changing the mediator's neutral role.

Attorneys may help clients prepare, evaluate proposals, exchange information, and address documentation after mediation. Joel Harris's role as mediator is different from the role of an attorney representing a client.

If an attorney is involved, review the attorney-specific page for referral, scheduling, and participation information:mediation for attorneys and represented parties.
